About the SSRC
Our Launch
Established in 2025, the SSRC aims to build an international collaboration and resource network. Launched at Kristiania University of Applied Sciences and in support of the WHO/ Europe Collaborating Centre on Risk Communication, Community Engagement, and Infodemic Management (RCCE-IM) hosted by Kristiania, the SSRC provides research and training to support Preparedness 2.0 principles, translating research to action, promoting community-driven research, and supporting capacity building for broad risk and crisis communication practice.

Tools for Rapid Response Research & Translating Research to Action
Developing valid and reliable rapid response tools for research and intervention development that ensure that practitioners get the information they need when they need it to improve evidence-led risk and crisis communication interventions.
This report was developed by the WHO/Europe’s RCCE-IM Collaboration Center and the WHO into formal guidance for rapid research for mpox.
Developing More Inclusive and Safe School Environments
Promoting community-driven research to improve engagement strategies and tailor interventions to different populations.
Building an international collaborative network of scholars, practitioners, and organizations all interested in improving risk and crisis communication theory and practice to deliver actionable research to enhance interventions supporting self/other protective behavior during emergencies
Supporting Capacity Building for Risk and Crisis Response
Supporting capacity-building for risk and crisis communication professionals globally to ensure that health authorities are well-equipped to implement effective strategies.
This will involve innovative digital solutions, developing and delivering training designed for risk and crisis communication capacity building, and providing ad hoc expert feedback on emergent issues related to societal security.
